Benesch offers leave for medical, childcare, family care, military, and personal reasons. Leaves are administered by Lincoln Financial Group.
If you need time away from work or special arrangements for your work environment or schedule, you can apply for a leave of absence or accommodation. The application process is managed by Lincoln Financial to ensure we can best support our employees and ensure a consistent, convenient process for all.

- Reach out to our Benefits team at benefits@beneschlaw.com to discuss going out on leave.
- Meet with Benefits Analyst – Service Delivery to learn about eligibility, policy guidelines, and an overview of the leaves process.
- File a claim online at lincolnfinancial.com or by phone at 888-202-4307.
- Submit any necessary medical documentation—Lincoln can help you secure the documentation you need.
- Receive approval or denial of the leave within 10 days, provided that all medical documentation is complete and sufficient.
- Comply with the timeframes required in the leave process.
- Continue to be paid by Benesch if it’s a paid leave.
- Continue to have benefit premiums withdrawn from paycheck if leave is paid. (If unpaid leave, pay premiums through a direct billing process.)

Applying for an Accommodation: What to Expect
- Contact our Benefits team at benefits@beneschlaw.com to discuss the process.
- Request an accommodation through the Lincoln portal.
- Receive letter confirming the accommodation decision.
- Work with Lincoln to track the accommodation.
- Receive reminders from Lincoln as needed.
- Have a follow-up discussion with the Benefits team at 30 and 90 days.
- Re-certify through Lincoln portal annually to ensure accommodations are still needed/up to date.
