If you think surgery is a possibility in the coming year, rest assured we’ve got you covered.

Whether major or minor, surgery of any kind has the potential to impact several areas of your life, and we offer a variety of benefits to help you.

Medical

Both the Health Care Savings Medical Plan and the PPO Medical Plan cover inpatient and outpatient care. That means you're covered whether your surgery requires an overnight hospital stay or you’re home the same day. You also have coverage for lab work, follow-up visits, medications and more.

Second Medical Opinion

Summus can offer a second medical opinion from a top medical expert on whether you need surgery or if an alternative treatment is possible.

Funding Accounts

You’ll likely have out-of-pocket expenses with your surgery (especially if you haven’t met your deductible or out-of-pocket maximum), so one of our health care funding accounts—dependent on your medical plan—allows you to put tax-free money aside to pay for those bills.

Hospital Indemnity

If a hospital stay is likely, consider our new hospital indemnity plan. This insurance coverage gives you added financial protection on top of your medical plan.

Critical Illness

If surgery is due to a critical illness, you may benefit from critical illness insurance, which provides financial support ($10,000-$30,000) when diagnosed with a heart attack, cancer or stroke.

Time Off

You can use your paid time off or possibly a Family Care leave if needed. If surgery requires you to be off work for a while, short-term disability provides partial income replacement, helping you manage your bills.

Note: Short-term disability is provided by the firm, so no election is required.
